When a medical bill comes before payday
Hospitals usually ask for an admission deposit or advance before treatment, and cashless insurance approval can take hours or days. A short loan pays that gap from your own account, and you repay it in one payment on salary day, or earlier if the insurer reimburses you first.
Borrow smart: our advice
- Ask the hospital for an estimate first and borrow only the gap your insurance won't cover.
- Keep the hospital bill. Some insurers reimburse later, and you can close the loan early with no penalty.
- If the loan is for a family member's treatment, it's still in your name and repaid from your salary.

FAQs
Medical Emergency loan FAQs
Can I take a medical loan for a parent's or spouse's treatment?
Yes. The loan is in your name and repaid from your salary, so the patient can be anyone in your family. You don't need to upload the hospital bill to apply.
Is the money paid to the hospital?
No. It is paid into your own bank account, usually the same day you e-sign, and you pay the hospital, pharmacy or lab yourself.
My insurer will reimburse me later. Can I close the loan early?
Yes, with no prepayment charge, and interest stops on the day you repay. On a ₹8,000 loan, repaying on day 7 costs ₹8,031 instead of ₹8,178 on day 40.
How much can I borrow for a medical emergency?
From ₹8,000 to ₹75,000, depending on your salary and repayment history. First loans are typically up to about 40% of net monthly salary.
